Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Learning Support Assistant to join our team at the Griffin School District. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their educational needs.

About the Role
  • Assist teachers in preparing the learning environment to support educational activities.
  • Provide individualized support to students with varying learning needs.
  • Conduct assessments and conferencing activities to support student progress.
  • Perform administrative tasks to ensure effective communication and documentation of program activities.
Responsibilities
  1. Support teachers in developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of students with special requirements.
  2. Manage classroom materials and equipment for students with special needs.
  3. Monitor student behavior and provide support as needed to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  4. Collaborate with teachers to identify areas where students require additional support and develop strategies to address these needs.
Requirements
  • A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent certification (e.g., ParaPro) is required.
  • Compliance with state-mandated paraeducator competencies is essential.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively interact with students, teachers, and other staff members.
Estimated Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
