Role Summary

As a Software Architect at Five9, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform. Collaborating with diverse engineering teams, you will provide both technical and architectural direction while working closely with business stakeholders to introduce new features and enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enhance and maintain our API linter by refining rules, guidance, and processes.
  • Contribute to service reliability by developing tools, best practices, and guidance.
  • Assist product managers in expanding our internal self-service analytics tools utilizing Looker and BigQuery.
  • Plan, document, and support technical proof of concepts, establishing clear objectives and success metrics.
  • Mentor and collaborate with developers on software development practices and technical implementations, including voice technologies and protocols.
  • Engage with various departments within Five9, including Architecture leads, Product Owners, Operations, and InfoSec, to deliver high-value solutions for our customers.
  • Analyze existing challenges and provide guidance on enhancing scalability, fault tolerance, security, performance, resource utilization, and development quality.
  • Support the formation of technical guilds within Five9 to establish centers of excellence for technical expertise.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in software architecture, including documentation of design specifications and patterns.
  • At least 3 years of experience with Agile/Lean and DevOps methodologies.
  • Over 5 years of experience in software design and development, including n-tier architecture and web services.
  • Proven experience in developing SaaS/PaaS architectures with a strong understanding of cloud technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, multitenant infrastructures, and event-driven programming.
  • Experience in deploying and maintaining large-scale enterprise applications in high-availability environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Contact Center or Call Center software.
  • Experience with VOIP technologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Work Environment:

This position offers a fully remote option for candidates outside a specified radius of our office. For those within the radius, a hybrid model requiring in-office attendance on designated days will apply.
