Job Summary

Eli Lilly and Company is seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Automation Engineering to lead the development and maintenance of automation systems that ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of process equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation engineering, with experience in data analytics, process control, and lifecycle management of automation assets. They will be responsible for establishing control systems to monitor and trend equipment performance, identifying opportunities for optimization, and managing a team of automation engineers.

This is a key role that requires a deep understanding of automation systems, process control, and data analytics. The successful candidate will be a subject matter expert in one or more disciplines and will provide technical and leadership guidance to the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain automation systems to ensure reliable operation and maintenance of process equipment
  • Establish control systems to monitor and trend equipment performance
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and implement process improvements
  • Manage a team of automation engineers providing front-line support
  • Provide technical and leadership guidance to the engineering team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3 years of pro-industrial experience, including 3 years of experience in a cGMP environment
  • Experience with data analytics tools to monitor manufacturing processes, reduce cost, and meet data integrity compliance requirements
  • Experience with development and technical analysis of large-scale initiatives, including productivity improvements, new product introduction, capacity development, data analysis, data integrity, GMP remediation, and safety and environmental risk mitigation
  • Experience with lifecycle management of automation assets, reliability of automation assets, and continuous improvement of automation systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with investigation, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and change management
  • 2 years of experience with investigation, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and change management
