Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team in Tempe, AZ. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities and driving EHS improvement for our campus. You will work closely with our regional EHS Manager and other business sectors to support programs, processes, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver new hire orientation training and maintain records for safety programs
- Implement and train new or existing training programs to employees and supervision as needed
- Inspect facilities to detect existing or potentially unsafe conditions
- Lead investigations on incidents and near misses to identify root causes and help supervision develop corrective actions
- Engage operations and engineering team members to properly follow work methods in their daily job functions
- Proactively support site management in the implementation of EHS plans
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards and work with regulatory bodies
- Develop effective interdepartmental relationships and display strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in occupational safety and health, fire protection engineering, environmental science, industrial engineering, environmental management, or related field, and 3+ years of experience; or equivalent years of experience in a related field
- Working knowledge and experience in general manufacturing safety processes, procedures, and requirements
- Working knowledge and experience with general and/or construction OSHA requirements
- Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand and/or walk for 8+ hours daily and climb stairs
- Exemplary initiative and a learn-by-doing mentality is encouraged
- Must have strong communication and written skills, be proficient in MS Office programs, and able to work effectively in a team environment
- Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $122,900 per annum
- Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package
- A range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered
