Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic (Part-Time) to join our team at Johnson County (Iowa). As a Paramedic (Part-Time), you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Transport patients to medical facilities and provide ongoing care during transport.
  • Perform duties of an EMT-Paramedic as defined in service protocols approved by the Service Program Medical Director.
  • Complete and submit patient care reports, billing sheets, and other related documentation.
  • Contribute to the training of new employees to maintain a high standard of care.
  • Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with County/Department policies, procedures, safety practices, and the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities and work-related meetings as requested.
  • Attend work regularly at the designated place and time.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent and successful completion of the prescribed course curricula at an approved paramedic program as determined by the Iowa State Bureau of EMS.
  • Current EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Iowa and current ACLS, BLS, PALS provider certifications.
  • Valid chauffeur's license and insurable under county liability coverage.
  • Safe driving record.
  • Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination.
Working Conditions

The Paramedic (Part-Time) will work in a fast-paced emergency medical services environment, responding to emergency calls and providing medical care to patients.
