The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics is seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our Radiology team. As a Paramedic IR Tech Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting technologists and physicians with procedures in our interventional radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with patient care services, including setup of sterile trays and use of complex medical equipment.
- Establish rapport with patients and provide information about exam procedures and requirements.
- Collaborate with radiology staff to ensure smooth operation of department.
- Participate in the collection of venous blood samples and assist with basic patient care services.
- Implement patient care plans and document interventions and patient responses.
- Graduation from high school.
- Current paramedic certification by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
- Current course completion card in Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association.
- Current course completion card in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum one (1) year advanced life support field experience as an emergency response paramedic.
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Critical care Paramedic (CCP); Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS).
- Associate degree in Paramedic.
- Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa.
