Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Steam Fireman to join our team at InsideHigherEd. This is a second shift position, working Tuesday through Saturday from 2pm to 10pm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate boilers and related equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.
  • Read meters and gauges at specified intervals to monitor system performance.
  • Open and close valves and adjust controls to maintain optimal system conditions.
  • Monitor operating systems to detect faulty equipment and take corrective action.
Requirements
  • Valid Massachusetts 2nd Class Steam Fireman license (for Steam Fireman I) or 1st Class Steam Fireman license (for Steam Fireman II) pursuant to Chapter 146 of the Massachusetts General Laws.

This is an MTA - Maintenance & Trades Bargaining Union position, Grade 15 MTU, Step 1 $1,984.04 – Step 14 $2,785.63.
