Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Steam Fireman to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our Facilities Operations & Services department, you will be responsible for operating boilers and related equipment, reading meters and gauges, and monitoring operating systems to detect faulty equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate boilers and related equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation
  • Read meters and gauges at specified intervals to monitor system performance
  • Open and close valves and adjust controls to maintain optimal system conditions
  • Monitor operating systems to detect faulty equipment and take corrective action

Requirements:

  • Valid Massachusetts 2nd Class Steam Fireman (for Steam Fireman I) or 1st Class Steam Fireman license (for Steam Fireman II) pursuant to Chapter 146 of the Massachusetts General Laws
