Job Description

I. Job Summary and Key Objectives

As an Associate Director of Content Strategy, you will collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop innovative and effective content ideas for advertising partners in the Home, Retail, and Tech industries. Your primary goal will be to create meaningful content experiences that meet consumer needs and solve advertiser challenges through various formats, including social, written, video, and experiential content.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Content Strategy and involves working across the Dotdash Meredith portfolio of over 40 iconic brands, including Real Simple, Better Homes & Gardens, Food & Wine, PEOPLE, Parents, Byrdie, InStyle, and People en Espanol.



II. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Actions

Develop and oversee custom content on sales opportunities, creating smart and strategic ideas for Lifestyle advertisers

Attend brainstorming sessions, ideate concepts, and deliver write-ups to be integrated into final proposals

Compile and discuss production costs from internal teams (i.e., video, photo, talent costs)

Represent ideated content strategies in pitches with agency and client partners

Additional Responsibilities

Act as a creative through-line from pitch phase through execution

Onboard in-house production teams on sold concepts

Act as quality control throughout the production process

Represent creative on photo and video shoots, alongside clients

Relationship Building and Industry Knowledge

Foster relationships with Home, Retail, and Tech sales and marketing teams, ensuring you are up-to-date on each of Dotdash Meredith's brand's unique voice, content products, and opportunities

Stay current on new content formats, trends, and platforms, incorporating this knowledge into client pitches

  • Future opportunity to manage a more junior content strategist (Manager or Senior Manager) with similar job functions

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education:
BS/BA or equivalent professional experience

Experience:
7-8 years in a digital/social media environment

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bonus points for content studio, production, creative agency, and/or content marketing experience. Not required.

Demonstrated experience and/or interest in the Home, Retail, or Tech industries

Collaborative:
You are a team player who knows a good idea can come from anywhere

Communicative:
You have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills

Creative:
You look at the world through a creative lens and are energized by brainstorming sessions with your peers

Connected:
Avid consumer of content in its various forms across platforms.

Flexible:
This role requires an ability to move between several brands, verticals, and sites in various stages of presale and post-sale and, from time to time, cover content strategy needs for other lifestyle verticals

Salary:

$100, $120,000.00


The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future.

Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.

The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
