Part-time Driver Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Driver to transport Residents throughout the Brethren Village campus and off-campus. The successful applicant will possess a class C Commercial Driver's License with a Passenger endorsement and a driving record free from excessive or serious violations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate Brethren Village vehicles, including shuttle buses and/or the Medical Van, to transport Residents.
- Pick-up and drop-off Residents on the route and according to schedule.
- Assist Residents to get on and off the bus as needed, and assist with loading and unloading Residents' packages.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use software, apps, and databases independently.
- The ability to complete online training independently.
- Dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards.
- Attention to safety: ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty.
- Commitment to treating each Resident, Team Member, and member of the Brethren Village community with respect.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least age 21.
- Must have possessed a valid PA driver's license for at least the prior 2 years, and must maintain a valid PA driver's license during employment.
- Must maintain a class C Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement during employment.
- Must be able to safely drive vehicles during all weather conditions.
- Must maintain CPR certification.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience.
- Must be able to read and speak English, per DOT requirements.
- Must have a driving record free from excessive or serious violations and accidents.
- Must be willing to provide certification from prior employers, if applicable, of no positive tests for drugs or alcohol over the past 2 years.
- Must have a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate, or be able to obtain one upon hire.
- Must be willing to submit to random drug and alcohol tests when scheduled.
- Must have a basic understanding of vehicle maintenance requirements.
- Must possess effective interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation.
- Must be able to safely help Residents on and off vehicles, and safely load and secure wheelchairs.
