Optician Retail Specialist

Assist customers with frame selection, fitting, and dispensing. Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions and provide optical products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist customers with frame and lens selection while maintaining social distancing.
- Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols, and hygiene practices.
- Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lenses, and services.
- Communicate effectively with customers, including those with Third Party insurance, to ensure proper selection of frames and lenses.
- Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and establish proper lens recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions, communicating as necessary with the Lab and Optometrist to ensure accuracy.
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories through accurate measurements, verification of ordered products, and adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
- Ensure accurate customer pricing for retail customers.
- Maintain license requirements per State Guidelines.
- Provide feedback and guidance to Apprentice Opticians, where applicable.
- Adhere to privacy and confidential company policies and procedures.
- Participate in training and educational activities to fulfill departmental goals.
- Maintain the cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and the facility on a daily basis.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Current Massachusetts State Ophthalmic dispensing license.
- Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, prescription analysis, fitting, and dispensing.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including discounts, interest, and percentages.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
