Job Summary

The Plant Manager will be responsible for overseeing the overall financial and operational performance of the manufacturing facility. This includes meeting with senior leadership to discuss planning, implementing corporate and facility policies, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain financial responsibilities and expectations for the plant
  • Meet with senior leadership to discuss overall planning for facilities, equipment, and manpower
  • Implement corporate and facility policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Champion HSE and Quality Programs
  • Consistently meet production schedules and ensure timely shipment of product
  • Provide leadership duties to the Operations group
  • Work with senior leadership to set goals and objectives for the facility
  • Maintain equipment and assets in good operational order
  • Communicate with direct reports to ensure corporate and facility goals are being followed
  • Participate in management review meetings to ensure Quality programs are operating efficiently
  • Assist in employee development through performance feedback and one-on-one discussions
  • Determine future equipment needs and make recommendations for capital expenditures
  • Establish effective means of control to achieve facility objectives
  • Manage inventory to achieve planned turns and address excess or obsolescence
  • Manage quality program and maintain related certifications
  • Develop and implement Lean Initiatives
  • Plan and lead cost reduction efforts
  • Effectively lead personnel and plan staffing
  • Execute strategy deployment and KPIs
  • Assure maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Achieve output and profitability targets
  • Ensure production plans and schedules are established and managed
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Management, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Previous experience as a Plant Manager in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of controls
  • Broad knowledge of machining and assembly practices
  • Knowledge of and experience in Union Employee Relations
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Full understanding of production planning strategies
  • Above-average proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Experience in Project Management is preferred
