Job Summary

The University of Arkansas System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Clinical Trials to lead the administrative leadership and supervisory oversight of all operations and personnel required for clinical trials and related research initiatives conducted by the Health and the Legal System Research Laboratory within UAMS' Psychiatric Research Institute.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical research, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical program research, project, or coordinator experience, including at least 4 years of supervisory experience. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in health, business, or a related field and possess excellent organizational skills, with the ability to interact and develop strong positive working relationships with a diverse group of professionals at all levels within the research team, organization, and outside community.

The Director will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of HEALS' clinical research team and practice services, promoting a positive multidisciplinary collaboration and interaction with volunteers, colleagues, and management team. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing standard operating procedures, training staff to ensure consistency and quality of work performed, and facilitating effective communication and interaction among staff, researchers, and senior leaders of other groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Leadership: Manage the day-to-day operations of HEALS' clinical research team and practice services in accordance with the goals, objectives, budget, and timeline established by senior leadership.
  • Supervisory Oversight: Manage staff responsible for the conduct, coordination, oversight, and reporting of HEALS-supported clinical research.
  • Develop and maintain professional knowledge and skills by participating in continuing educational activities and professional organizations.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, communicate accurate and complete information, and maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of clinical program research, project, or coordinator experience, including at least 4 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to interact and develop strong positive working relationships with a diverse group of professionals.
