Position Overview:
You will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of land surveying, civil engineering, and utility locating initiatives. As a key leader, you will ensure that projects are completed within the established budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects by providing oversight and support for both field and office operations related to Civil Design and Land Survey projects.
  • Conduct research and gather essential documents to facilitate the successful completion of tasks.
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise Civil and Survey technicians in their assigned duties.
  • Verify the accuracy and compliance of work performed by technicians, ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
  • Guide technician staff to adhere to project schedules and budgets, monitoring the progress of assigned tasks.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance and guidance to technicians as needed.
  • Drive the completion of survey projects within budgetary constraints and timelines, keeping management informed of any issues.
  • Effectively manage changes in project scope through timely communication and negotiation.
  • Maintain comprehensive project files, including all relevant notes, communications, and design documents.
  • Prepare and oversee detailed civil engineering designs for municipal public works and private improvement projects.
  • Conduct advanced engineering design tasks, including civil/site, roadway, drainage, and stormwater management.
  • Generate engineering plans, specifications, and reports as required by assigned projects.
  • Conduct site observations and prepare written field reports.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy and completeness of plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with developers and consultants to resolve project-related issues.
  • Perform any additional engineering tasks necessary to meet project requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Professional certification as a Registered Civil Engineer (RCE) is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in land development and planning.
  • Proficiency in design and drafting methods, particularly with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take decisive actions and document processes effectively.
  • Results-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • High attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and accountability.
  • Positive attitude and solutions-oriented approach.
