Job Overview

The Process Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of union and non-union personnel in the compounding, filling, and packaging of sterile and specialty pharmaceutical products. This role ensures compliance with FDA regulations and cGMP guidelines, and involves preparing, staffing, and operating production lines, interacting with customers, collecting and interpreting data, and writing technical reports.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production plans, scheduling personnel, and monitoring progress to achieve shift production summaries.
  • Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating problems, and recommending solutions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on control points, equipment, and resources, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment, and maintaining facility maintenance requests.
  • Contribute to the writing and review of documentation, such as SOPs and PRs, and assure compliance with cGMPs.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems, and meet regularly with production personnel to communicate company information and review progress.
  • Coordinate communication among production shifts and participate on internal, cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Manage and collaborate with team members regarding operational activities, develop creative solutions to technical and organizational problems, and review and implement corrective action plans.
  • Regularly meet with the Operations Manager to discuss project plans, updates, forecasting, and potential issues or recommendations.
  • Identify and lead efforts to improve processes and systems, conduct and follow up on continuous improvement efforts, and self-develop to move into positions of greater responsibility.


Requirements

Bachelor's degree in the Natural Sciences, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry in an operational role is required. A minimum of one year as a group lead or other leadership position is preferred. Other leadership background, such as military service or leadership courses, will be considered.
