The Role – Director of EngineeringWe are in search of a Director of Engineering who will play a pivotal role in advancing our vision of becoming a premier technology firm. In this capacity, you will utilize your extensive technical background to ensure that technical decisions are aligned with business objectives. You will cultivate high-performing teams that prioritize accountability and psychological safety, enabling the best solutions to emerge. Your strong customer orientation will help you identify intersections between technical capabilities and customer requirements, leading to simple yet effective solutions.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will empower you to drive initiatives within the engineering department and influence the wider organization. You will also be tasked with developing technical roadmaps alongside your team, focusing on new challenges and emerging business opportunities.
Responsibilities:- Develop high-quality, resilient products that resonate with customers.
- Encourage an inclusive team culture that allows for optimal performance.
- Empower your team to address challenges while providing necessary context and boundaries.
- Collaborate with product, UX, data, and other teams to uncover the best solutions for our clients.
- Lead projects that have a significant impact across engineering and the broader organization.
- Enhance team capabilities through internal growth and external recruitment.
- Promote rapid iterative development supported by analysis of experiments.
- Balance efforts between immediate and long-term objectives.
- Minimum of 3 years in engineering management with experience overseeing managers.
- Technical proficiency in relevant areas, particularly in the design, implementation, and maintenance of web services and/or infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience guiding teams through transitions in a growing organization.
- Proven track record in building and scaling development teams.
- Commitment to quality, technical excellence, and results-driven outcomes.
- Familiarity with Scrum or Agile methodologies.
- Background in accounting is advantageous.
