Position Summary
The Primary Care Physician will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical services. Reporting to the Medical Director, this role involves collaboration with the healthcare team to uphold the Center's mission and objectives. Physicians will be responsible for a full range of primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough health assessments and physical examinations.
- Formulate treatment plans and provide patient counseling.
- Prescribe medications in compliance with state regulations.
- Maintain accurate health records in accordance with established policies.
- Ensure continuity of care through timely medical services.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to patients via various communication methods.
- Perform minor surgical procedures as necessary.
- Coordinate referrals for specialized services not available at the Center.
- Review and act on incoming medical reports promptly.
- Adhere to all safety and quality improvement standards.
- Engage in health promotion and education initiatives.
- Assist in the development of clinical protocols and practices.
- Mentor and supervise clinical staff and students as appropriate.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director.
Qualifications
- Unrestricted State Medical License.
- Current State D.E.A. Certificate.
- Degree from an accredited medical institution.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
- Ongoing medical education as required by specialty boards.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Relevant experience demonstrating capability in the role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
- Minimum of two years of experience in primary care with diverse patient populations.
- Experience in geriatrics is advantageous.
Physical Requirements
Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which may include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Vision capabilities must include close and distance vision, as well as depth perception. The work environment may involve exposure to various conditions, requiring adaptability and resilience.
