Shermco Industries is a leading provider of electrical testing and engineering services. We are seeking an Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team.

As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering-related design, analysis, and studies for domestic and international projects. This will include conducting short-circuit, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies, as well as performing power factor analysis and correction, harmonic modeling and analysis, and grounding analysis.

You will also be responsible for interacting with customers to gather critical information and review engineering plans, and occasionally working in the field under the direction of our Field Services team on shut-down, startup, and maintenance projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 2 years relevant experience; prefer educational focus in Power Systems studies.
  • Experience in short-circuit, protective device coordination, arc-flash, and power quality studies preferred.
  • Must have experience using SKM, ETAP, ASPEN, EZPower, or other power system modeling software.
  • Must have knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage up to 500 kV.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate in English via verbal and written methods and be comfortable doing so directly to customers and co-workers.

Preferred qualifications include field experience with substations or switchgear, utility design experience, and availability for occasional domestic and international travel.
