We are currently seeking a permanent, full-time Server Operations Specialist for our Enterprise Technology Services division.
What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Manager of Enterprise Technology Services, you will be responsible for the design, installation, administration, and optimization of company servers and associated components to ensure high performance of various business applications through necessary server tuning.

Your role will include ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for the ongoing management of the server environment.

When applicable, the Server Operations Specialist will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm.

What will you do?
Develop strategies for client/server implementation and architect the infrastructure required to support those strategies.
Lead, coordinate, and engage in key process enhancements related to the client/server environment.
Act as the project lead in the design and review of new server systems, applications, and hardware.
Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server security.
Monitor Help Desk database for entries related to server and server resource issues.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all server-related matters, documenting technical issues through incident tracking.
Ensure that the Server Operations environment's hardware and software are properly documented, and that software licenses and registrations are current.
Perform file system configuration and management; define and execute server backup and recovery procedures, scaling out to a comprehensive Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plan (Veeam).

Administer and support our Windows server infrastructure and services, including Exchange, File and Print, Veeam, Active Directory, and DNS.

Conduct research on server hardware, software, and protocols to support procurement and development efforts.
Create Project Plans for Deployment.
Collaborate with stakeholders to execute the Deployment Project Plan.
Provide 24x7 on-call support outside of regular hours.
What do you need to succeed?
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or a post-secondary Diploma with equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing, managing, and supporting server applications and systems.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, processes, and tools.
Experience with scripting and programming.
Knowledge and applicable experience with various operating systems and security measures.
Experience managing business, functional, and technical requirements.
Excellent analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively consult with clients on business processes.
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to determine acceptable solutions.
Experience in business process optimization and functionality with information technology.
Experience in developing data integration and interoperability solutions.
Experience in creating Business Intelligence and Analytics platforms and/or products.
Valid driver's license for site visits.

Preferred:
VMware, Microsoft, and Security Certifications would be advantageous.
