CNC Machine Operator Job Description

CNC Machine Operators at Accurus Aerospace Corporation are responsible for operating computer-controlled machines to perform various machining functions. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate automated CNC Vertical and horizontal machines
  • Accurately locate and identify the X, Y, Z axis on Vertical and Horizontal machines
  • Perform daily point checks on assigned machines and report concerns to supervisor
  • Meet departmental and company goals and objectives
  • Accurately interpret product blueprints, drawings, and other work instructions
  • Use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts are machined to specifications
  • Remove and replace dull cutting tools and follow safety protocols
  • Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, and workpieces on machines
  • Monitor machine operation and adjust as needed to prevent malfunctions
  • Enter control instructions into machine control units and start operation
  • Monitor and adjust coolant systems as needed
  • Transfer commands from servers to CNC modules using computer network links
  • Perform other duties as required, including training new operators and deburring machined parts
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of six months experience in a manufacturing role utilizing CNC machines or similar automated equipment
  • Experience reading and interpreting shop blueprints, sketches, and other technical information
  • Demonstrated basic math skills and experience using precision measuring equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet departmental and company goals
Working Conditions:

CNC Machine Operators work in a manufacturing shop environment where they may be exposed to excessive noise, dust, smoke, mist, fumes, and hazardous equipment. The use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
