Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Painter - Maintenance Specialist to join our team at CAPPS, Inc. This is a journey-level position that requires a high level of expertise in painting and maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, scraping, and removing old paint.
  • Make on-site preparations for covering fixtures and filling cracks and holes with appropriate materials.
  • Blend paint colors and other materials to achieve the right color and texture.
  • Paint surfaces as directed, using a variety of techniques and equipment.
  • Clean areas and materials as part of painting projects and primary assignments.
  • Perform clerical duties, including opening and closing work orders.
  • Assist the maintenance team in performing their duties.
  • Perform inventories of supplies and materials.
  • Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in facilities, maintenance, or construction duties, or a minimum of three years' experience in residential or commercial painting.
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence.
  • Working knowledge of TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of proper painting techniques, including paint mixing, preparation, application, and clean-up.
  • Ability to properly use painting equipment, such as sprayers, brushes, and rollers.
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, such as wall repair, sanding, caulking, sealing, and texturing.
  • Ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy, and establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner at all times, avoiding shortcuts that have potential adverse results or risks.

The employee will work in an office, outdoors, and in a vehicle. The employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and transfer weights of up to 50 pounds. The employee will also be required to speak, hear, exercise visual acuity, smell, and drive a vehicle.
