Patient Relations Advocate Coordinator

USA Health is redefining the intersection of medical care, education, and research to positively influence the health of individuals residing in Mobile and its neighboring areas. Our multidisciplinary team, comprising physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, and researchers, delivers the region's most sophisticated medical services across various facilities, campuses, clinics, and educational settings. We ensure patients have convenient access to pioneering treatments and innovations that elevate the health and overall quality of life within our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate issues, directing concerns to the appropriate hospital and medical personnel through effective oral and written communication.
- Investigate complaints, collaborating with Quality Assurance, physicians, and on-call administrators for necessary follow-up actions.
- Recognize and report Risk Management concerns to administration and Risk Management teams.
- Conduct thorough investigations into patient grievances and quality-related matters.
- Interpret and communicate hospital philosophy, policies, and procedures to patients, families, and staff.
- Promote adherence to hospital policies regarding patient rights and responsibilities through exemplary conduct and education.
- Employ effective customer service skills when interacting with physicians, patients, families, and healthcare teams, both in person and via telephone.
- Respond to overhead pages and digital alerts promptly.
- Aggregate, analyze, chart, and report survey findings.
- Review, update, edit, and order hospital Patient Information Guides, ensuring compliance with current standards set by relevant authorities.
- Fulfill all assigned duties positively and collaboratively, enhancing departmental performance.
- Complete all mandatory training and hospital requirements diligently.
- Implement cost-effective practices in all job functions.
- Adhere to current Infection Control and Safety Standards, as well as hospital confidentiality policies.
- Participate in assigned committees and Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Maintain regular attendance and be available for additional hours as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience or two years of direct patient relations experience. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and can substitute for the required experience. Previous hospital experience is advantageous.
