Step into the role of a Shift Supervisor and showcase your leadership skills. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn from experienced Club Managers while assisting in the management and operations of a Planet Fitness facility. You will play a vital role in developing team members and delivering exceptional customer service.

At Excel Fitness, a franchise of Planet Fitness based in Austin, TX, we have expanded from 16 locations to over 90 across 6 states since 2016. Many of our senior managers began their journey at the front desk and have progressed to earn competitive salaries, starting at $42k as a General Manager, $60k as a Regional Manager, and exceeding $100k as a Regional Director overseeing multiple locations.

It all begins at the front desk, where our Team Players are responsible for ensuring a positive experience for our members through outstanding customer service and maintaining cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and training a high-performing team.
  • Support the General Manager in staff management and oversight.
  • Help in scheduling and supervising team members.
  • Ensure the entire team provides a world-class member experience consistently.
  • Address member, staff, and club issues as they arise.
  • Engage in all front desk activities, including:
  • Checking members into the system.
  • Guiding prospective members through tours and assisting with account sign-ups.
  • Facilitating updates to member accounts.
  • Contributing to the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Assisting in supply ordering within budget parameters.
  • Tracking statistics and reports (weekly, monthly, and annually).
  • Providing backup support for absent employees.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional customer service skills, preferably in the fitness sector.
  • Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness.
  • Strong supervisory, diplomatic, and listening abilities.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Suite).
  • Enthusiastic, hardworking, and energetic.
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Current CPR Certification is required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical Requirements
  • Regular standing and walking during shifts.
  • Frequent communication in person or over the phone.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to commercial cleaning products during shifts.
