Crew Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crew Leader to join our team at McCormick & Co Inc. As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall performance of the team to meet objectives for scorecard metrics and OGSM's for cost, quality assurance, inventory control, HazMat shipping compliance and training, safety, sanitation, service, sustainability, organizational health, GMP's, and distribution reliability.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure overall performance of the team to include quality, safety, reliability, waste and sanitation to achieve business goals.
- Pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiency.
- Coach, train, and ensure compliance to plant established procedures (including work rule, safety and sanitation guidelines) while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people.
- Ensure that all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommend updates to existing procedures as required.
- Coordinate and schedule crew vacation requests and overtime.
- Determine needs and conduct training required for new and existing employees.
- Ensure product meets quality standards, coordinate problem solving directly with QA floor inspector.
- Resolve minor mechanical and processing problems and make necessary adjustments to keep lines running.
- Perform job tasks of other team members of jobs of equal or lower grades.
- Facilitate teamwork and coaching among team members.
- Hold meetings for production tracking, problem solving and team development.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on all production equipment required.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing problems required.
- Demonstrated ability to understand financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory required.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications and Lotus Notes required.
- Demonstrated ability to pro-actively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem solving initiatives required.
- Proven ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for the capabilities of all people required.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment required.
- Ability to work overtime/weekends required.
- Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, PowerPoint, Access preferred.
- Demonstrated practice of leadership principles required and formal leadership training strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated competency to operate all equipment in the business strongly preferred.
- Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross-functional meetings strongly preferred.
