The Rizzo Companies is seeking a dedicated Civil Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of construction projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that all work is executed with the utmost quality, adhering to the specifications outlined in project documentation, while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of contracts, subcontracts, and project specifications, collaborating with the Project Manager to establish effective on-site procedures.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and Scheduler to create and adjust project timelines, ensuring they are consistently updated to meet deadlines.
- Plan and assess quality control measures, safety protocols, site layout, temporary utilities, equipment needs, and workforce requirements in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance of subcontractors, suppliers, and labor resources.
- Provide strong leadership and cultivate positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to enhance project morale.
- Ensure all subcontractors possess necessary documentation, including Certificates of Insurance, executed Subcontracts, and Safety Programs.
- Confirm that all required permits and licenses are secured, and maintain a bulletin board for essential safety notices.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
- Solid understanding of project cost management.
- OSHA 10 certification is mandatory; OSHA 30 certification is advantageous.
- Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional leadership and communication abilities.
- Experience with DOT regulations is a plus.
Salary will be determined based on experience.
