About the Role

Gastro Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Relations Representative to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer all incoming calls and route them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Schedule, confirm, and cancel office appointments as patients call in.
  • Work on referrals and import demographics from the patient portal.
  • Pick up voicemail messages on a daily basis.
  • Verify patients' health plan benefits and obtain authorization, if needed.
  • Assist patients with questions and/or concerns regarding procedures.
  • Request medical records from doctors and hospitals.
  • Call-in new prescriptions and refills and obtain authorization if necessary.
  • Obtain lab results, including stat requests.
Requirements
  • A high school degree or GED is required for this position.
  • One year of experience in customer service and/or a related clinical environment; working knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
  • Call Center Representative or Receptionist experience is a plus.
  • Dependability and punctuality are required.
  • The ability to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm is required.
  • Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
