Position Overview:

The Retail Associate plays a vital role in our retail operations. This position supports store management in delivering outstanding brand and customer interactions, enhances store sales, and contributes to overall profitability. Adheres to marketing and promotional strategies that will boost sales and expand our customer base. Maintains high standards of store presentation and fosters a welcoming, inclusive atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful service both in-person and through other communication channels, adhering to company service standards.
  • Greets customers warmly and strives to ensure they have a positive shopping experience.
  • Assists customers in locating products and goes the extra mile to create an exceptional shopping journey; suggests items that may meet their needs and enhance store sales.
  • Supports customers with special requests, exchanges, returns, and in-store orders.
  • Utilizes the POS system effectively for processing sales transactions.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the product range, engages in product training, and enthusiastically shares knowledge with customers about our offerings.
  • Assists with inventory management, order processing, and organization of the stockroom.
  • Collaborates with management on weekly cleaning tasks to ensure a tidy and organized store environment.
  • Adheres to inventory control and loss prevention protocols.
  • Participates in merchandising, store layout changes, and visual merchandising initiatives to enhance the customer experience.
  • Follows all safety and security procedures and operates within established guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
  • A passion for outdoor activities is highly desirable, with a particular interest in climbing, yoga, or running, along with a commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
  • Experience in retail sales or customer service, particularly in specialty retail or outdoor apparel, is advantageous.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Availability for a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings and weekends, is essential.
Physical Requirements:

To successfully perform this role, individuals must be able to fulfill each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to remain stationary.
  • Constantly requires the ability to move throughout the store and communicate with others (customers and co-workers) to exchange information.
  • Frequently involves adjusting or moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • A detailed physical requirements document is maintained on file.
Compensation:

Pay Range: $17 - $24.48
Expected Pay Range for Hire: $17 - $18
*Compensation decisions are influenced by various factors, including market rates, candidate qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
