Overview

The Technical Services Coordinator ("TSC") is tasked with overseeing the technical requirements for our clients within various event venues. The TSC is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction regarding technical specifications while maintaining safety standards for both staff and attendees. This role includes comprehensive oversight of the successful execution of the client's technical theatre needs. The TSC will also manage the setup, operation, and maintenance of various theatrical systems, including lighting, sound, rigging, and audio/video systems utilized during events.

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $20 to $25.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with clients to design, develop, and implement all technical theatre requirements in our event spaces. The TSC will draft initial designs and manage them through to the completion of the event, addressing challenges while adhering to safety regulations and codes.
  • Engage with clients to ascertain their technical needs, fostering a professional relationship that assures them of your commitment to their success.
  • Coordinate with other departments and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of services to clients.
  • Prepare cost estimates for clients and secure approval for any changes that incur additional costs.
  • Create Purchase Orders for necessary equipment and services from vendors, ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all equipment and services provided for settlement purposes.
  • Supervise a team of theatrical stagehands, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Conduct daily operations for the Technical Services Department.
  • Install, operate, and maintain various theatrical systems and building systems.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned.

Job-Related Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in event operations and technical services within large venues, with at least two years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience in training staff on technical operations.
  • Understanding of technical skills for event coordination and setup.
  • Experience managing large teams.
  • Ability to operate service-related vehicles.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and requirements.
Working Conditions

Physical/Mental Requirements

Licensure, Certification
  • A valid driver's license is required for equipment transport.
