With a robust pipeline of over 90 projects, totaling more than 12,000 units, we are poised for significant growth in the coming years.
We are currently in search of an Assistant Construction Superintendent to oversee operations on a key project in San Jose, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and uphold a safe working environment across the jobsite, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the project plan and timeline, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.
- Supervise and coordinate all construction activities, including those of subcontractors.
- Formulate site-specific plans and procedures to be executed throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure that all materials and workmanship adhere to the established quality standards and design specifications.
- Gather essential information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and relevant authorities.
- Report potential issues, work disruptions, and scheduling challenges to senior management, assisting in conflict resolution.
- Proactively identify and address project challenges and scheduling conflicts.
- Contribute to cost estimation and forecasting in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Maintain a comprehensive daily job diary for the project.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Assistant Superintendent capacity.
- Completion of an apprenticeship or relevant experience in related trades.
- Extensive knowledge of the construction sector and operational practices, including specifications, plans, materials, methods, and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to lead safety initiatives on the jobsite.
- Proven experience managing large subcontractor teams.
- Capacity to thrive in a high-performance, fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in evaluating and guiding trade performance on-site.
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to construction challenges.
- Skilled in visualizing the entire project and anticipating constructability issues, integrating solutions into plans and schedules.
- Experience in developing and monitoring critical paths within project schedules.
- Ability to effectively schedule, monitor, and forecast resources for maximum efficiency.
- Understanding of when to seek professional advice.
- Experience in managing personnel and overseeing various aspects of construction projects.
