Position Overview

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in conducting phenotypic analyses of mouse models, performing surgical procedures, and isolating endothelial and vascular cells. Collaboration with a dedicated team of scientists is essential, as each member engages in experiments relevant to human health.

Responsibilities will also include amplifying plasmids and adenoviruses, executing western blotting, conducting qPCR, and performing histological and immunofluorescence staining to support ongoing research efforts. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date database.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a mouse colony through selective breeding and culling.
  • Conduct mouse surgeries related to cardiovascular research.
  • Perform plasmid and adenovirus amplification.
  • Execute tissue cutting and immunohistochemical analyses.
  • Analyze western blot results and manage database updates.
  • Assist with additional research tasks as needed, including supporting other research associates.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry, along with two years of research experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five years of research or clinical experience is acceptable. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.


Preferred Skills

Experience in cell culture, histology, molecular biology, and animal surgery is highly desirable.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to learning. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with research databases are essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, along with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.


Work Schedule and Compensation

This position typically operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of additional hours as needed. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
