Medical Phlebotomy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Forensic Phlebotomist to join our team at Bay Area PL Services (BayPLS), an innovative mobile laboratory company providing professional blood draws, vaccinations, and testing to individuals and entities in the Greater Bay Area. As a Medical Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a crucial role in collecting samples efficiently and painlessly, while ensuring compliance with safety rules and regulations.
About the Role:
- Collect blood and other specimens from patients across diverse demographics, including challenging cases.
- Navigate the Greater Bay Area using personal or company-sponsored transportation for sample collection and delivery.
- Respond within 30 minutes to designated locations, including county jails.
- Maintain and manage supplies and equipment for various types of jobs.
- Process patient samples correctly and promptly for laboratory delivery.
- Engage in continuous training and proficiency assessments to ensure up-to-date knowledge and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- Active Certified Phlebotomy License in California.
- Graduate of an accredited Certified Phlebotomy program.
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification.
- Strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and experience working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
Salary and Benefits:
Enjoy a competitive hourly rate of $19-$20, with night differential rates applying. This non-benefited position offers opportunities for part-time work, potentially leading to full-time roles based on availability. Our benefits package includes sick leave as required by California law, wellness resources, and access to a 401(k) plan. We also offer a retention bonus up to $500 subject to terms and conditions.
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
This role requires frequent travel to and between job sites, including varied hours and days. Applicants must be able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting and have excellent communication skills.
