Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Accountant to join our team at Church & Dwight Co., Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to make a real impact on our company's financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the financial aspects of a large, multi-business unit manufacturing and distribution facility, including cost accounting, inventory analysis, budgeting, and quarterly plan reviews.
  • Support plant safety policies and procedures, and participate in the preparation of annual plant budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Consolidate overhead spending, perform review of purchase prices for direct manufacturing costs, and notify corporate of purchasing changes of 10% or more.
  • Conduct month-end closing activities with department managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all inventory movements, production, etc.
  • Execute SAP month-end closing, prepare journal entries as needed, and assist with the preparation of monthly cost reports.
  • Establish and monitor labor and utility costs in WIP inventory, maintain costing systems, and input data into SAP as needed.
  • Prepare and coordinate the disposal requisitions of non-conforming or obsolete inventory, equipment, and/or raw materials.
  • Conduct analysis of labor hours and dollars by functional area, including both full-time and temporary employees.
  • Monitor hourly benefits liability estimates and allocation of actual costs, and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
  • Participate in MRO cycle count process and perform inventory reserve calculations based on inventory levels, inventory turns, and obsolete material identification.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media - verbal, written, etc.
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment, strong computer skills (MS Office Suite - especially Excel).
  • Experience in SAP PP/PC systems preferred, ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Basic working knowledge of manufacturing and distribution operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred, 5 years previous Cost Accounting/Financial Management experience in a fast-paced, multibusiness unit manufacturing environment preferred.
