Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Resident Care Specialist to join our team at UPMC. This is a full-time 40-hour work week position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

About the Role

The Resident Care Specialist will provide routine resident care and support services in accordance with established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the nurse or physician. This includes direct resident care, such as bathing, feeding, dressing, transporting, toileting, and ambulating residents, as well as maintaining an environment conducive to resident safety and recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain current CPR certification and participate in self-review as requested by the unit manager.
  • Assure equipment malfunctions are reported to the appropriate department and establish professional and respectful interpersonal relationships.
  • Provide direct resident care as directed by the RN and LPN, including activities of daily living and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Suggest and support changes within the department and assume responsibility for assignment and view problems as challenges.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
