Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at Geisinger Medical Laboratories. As a Laboratory Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of patient care through innovative and efficient laboratory services.

This Phlebotomist role requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field, with a strong focus on interpersonal communication and customer service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Collect blood specimens from patients using venipunctures and skin punctures, adhering to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines
• Accurately process and accession specimens for analysis, utilizing computer systems to register patients and facilitate billing
• Evaluate specimen suitability and acceptability, resolving discrepancies as necessary
• Navigate and access multiple computer applications as needed

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year of related work experience
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
