Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repairman to join our team at the Department of Transportation. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply expertise to restore building elements, including roofs, doors, and furniture, while fabricating temporary partitions and constructing forms.
  • Operate power and hand tools to execute assigned carpentry tasks, including painting interiors and exteriors of buildings, conducting masonry work on structures, and installing and maintaining plumbing fixtures and drainage systems.
  • Install electrical circuits, wall receptacles, switches, and lighting fixtures, and perform diagnostic testing and repairs on electrical equipment and systems.
  • Weld and braze metals using arc and acetylene welders, erect steel for construction purposes, and execute repairs on bridge structures, guided by the interpretation of blueprint plans.
Requirements
  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
