Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and repairing equipment and fixtures.
  • Operate and maintain various types of equipment, including cleaning machines and hand tools.
  • Assist with special projects and events, such as setup and teardown of facilities for events and activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of facilities.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must meet WV Standards for custodians, which requires passing a competency test, interview, and completing a performance portion.
  • Must meet WV Standards for General Maintenance, which requires passing a competency test, and an interview.
  • Must follow the background check procedures pursuant to WV code.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The individual must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time. The work schedule is 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
