Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at bartaco. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of the kitchen and ensuring that all food preparations and presentations meet our high standards for quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and implement menu concepts and recipes that align with bartaco's brand and quality standards.
  • Lead and motivate the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences that exceed guest expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in kitchen operations, including menu engineering, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the culinary team.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as bartaco's quality and service standards.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and purchasing to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Assist with the hiring and training of new kitchen staff, including developing and implementing onboarding programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or General Manager.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of culinary management experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Culinary arts degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and plating.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to work in a kitchen environment, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and exposure to heat and cold.
