About the Role:
We are in search of a proactive and detail-oriented Business Controls Analyst to enhance our Marketing and Business Development team.
This position is crucial for refining our Marketing and Sales operations through effective issue resolution, risk management, control design, and operational support.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Sales and Marketing processes, objectives, and the dynamics of Marketing Technology, along with a keen interest in resolving business challenges.
The Business Controls Analyst will collaborate with business partners, including risk management, compliance, and internal audit, to identify and resolve outstanding issues.
This role requires close interaction with issue owners to ensure quality documentation throughout the issue management lifecycle, from identification to resolution, while promoting accountability.
Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for generating and delivering reports to maintain comprehensive awareness across the organization.
The Business Controls Analyst will serve as an advisor to cross-functional teams, identifying common control issues and assisting with root cause analysis stemming from inadequate controls, while guiding the implementation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP).
They will also establish workflows to support consistent issue management arising from risk and control self-assessments (RCSAs), facilitate control issue management and remediation, and assist teams in developing and implementing risk issue/corrective action plans.
This role will promote risk awareness and enhance the effectiveness of the risk program across Galileo Co.'s subsidiaries, aligning with Business and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with issue owners, auditors, and reviewers to develop effective issue resolution plans.
- Ensure timely completion of issue management tasks and exceed deadlines.
- Create a milestone management model to track progress throughout the issue management process.
- Support the company's three lines of defense (3LOD) program.
- Assist in managing Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) obligations for Sales and Marketing Supplier Relationship Owners (SRO) regarding third-party suppliers, including regular assessments.
- Partner with various business units to address and report on issues from Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSAs).
- Work with enterprise risk teams to identify and manage issues and corrective action planning.
- Develop procedures and training to standardize issue/corrective action planning processes.
- Create metrics and reporting systems to evaluate the effectiveness of issue identification and corrective action planning.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, operational processes, and internal policies to advise stakeholders.
Issue Resolution and Reporting:
Act as the primary contact for Sales or Marketing-related issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
Develop strategies to mitigate future risks and enhance the control environment.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks in marketing or sales activities and collaborate with the risk management team to implement control measures and ensure compliance.
Continuous Improvement:
Regularly assess and enhance marketing and sales processes, updating policies and key risk indicators to incorporate best practices in risk management.
Drive initiatives that promote operational excellence and customer success by collaborating with compliance, legal, risk management, and internal audit teams.
Collaboration:
Work closely with internal teams, including legal and compliance, to foster effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk processes within financial services or banking, focusing on first or second line of defense risks.
- Familiarity with Marketing concepts in a B2B context and experience with Marketing Technology.
- Proven ability to foster a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments.
