Johnson Controls is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Systems Operations Team Lead to manage a branch systems operation team consisting of system technicians and system designers. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning projects to lead systems specialists, allocating resources, and ensuring compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, retain, and develop direct reports, including performance management and career development planning.
  • Train and mentor system technicians and system designers, facilitating strategic operations technical training and other branch operations training initiatives.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources between assigned lead systems specialists to ensure timely and cost-effective installation and completion of projects.
  • Recruit systems designers and system technicians with appropriate skills and competencies to meet the needs of the branch.
  • Review and interpret contract terms and conditions, assisting lead system specialists with site coordination tasks on projects of higher complexity.
  • Assist the systems operations team in identifying opportunities and pursuing additional work through change orders.
  • Develop and maintain viable long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors in the community.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a technical associate's degree with six years of field experience or eight years of equivalent related field and site coordination experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Relevant technical hands-on experience and systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.
  • Previous supervisory experience required, with solid coaching and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems, as well as project accounting, costing principles, and contracting.
