Project Controls Specialist

Job Summary
This position is part of the Project Controls group in Rocky Mountain Power. The group is responsible for supporting capital projects for the transmission and distribution areas of the company. The Project Controls Specialist will work under the direction of the supervisor to develop detailed project plans, cost estimates, and project summary reports. The specialist will also collaborate with corporate offices on cost, budget, and procurement issues, and ensure compliance with corporate governance.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed project plans and work breakdown structures to support project activity scheduling.
Develop cost estimates and project summary reports, providing tables and graphs of project earned value.
Collaborate with corporate offices on cost, budget, and procurement issues, determining positive resolution.
Monitor and identify deviations to plan, and make recommendations to the Project Manager.
Ensure compliance with corporate governance, including the creation and maintenance of project schedules in the Primavera scheduling database and SAP project structures.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with project life cycles, including the ability to perform research and analysis, and develop creative alternatives to processes and situations.
Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications, including SAP and Primavera scheduling software.
Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of three years project controls experience, with a working knowledge of SAP and Primavera scheduling software.
Familiarity with scheduling software and processes, including the ability to create and maintain project schedules and SAP project structures.
