Financial Analysis and Planning Specialist

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy in the budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis processes. This position also plays a crucial role in maintaining compliance and stability during safety and soundness examinations related to interest rate risk, liquidity, stress testing, and capital management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive analysis and critical information to senior management and executives to facilitate significant operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process by managing the collection of essential inputs into the budgeting systems and utilizing them for reporting and analysis to the relevant teams.
- Conduct thorough analysis of stock performance and prepare results for dissemination to key stakeholders.
- Perform monthly monitoring and analysis of financial modeling and reporting against budget and forecasts to ensure organizational profitability.
- Support the calculation, projection, analysis, and reporting of interest rate risk, liquidity, and capital position for risk management committees.
- Contribute to the development of balance sheet management strategies through detailed analysis and reporting.
- Analyze competitor interest rates and peer performance to support liquidity management processes.
- Model potential bank acquisitions and analyze financial impacts on profitability.
- Assist in corporate treasury management and contingency funding planning.
- Ensure accuracy in accounts payable processes and organizational profitability reporting.
- Maintain and update financial service product offerings and profitability assumptions.
- Collaborate with external parties and internal audit to validate asset liability modeling.
- Ensure accuracy in regulatory reporting processes and implement necessary changes.
- Monitor budgeted projects and report outcomes to management.
- Perform additional analytics and reporting as required.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; a Master of Business Administration or Master of Accountancy is preferred.
- CPA or CFA designation is preferred, or a commitment to obtaining these within a specified timeframe.
- Other relevant certifications, such as Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst certification, are advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis is required, with banking experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word is essential.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying analysis clearly.
- Attention to detail and accuracy while working under pressure.
