Join Our Team as a Mortgage Banker

First Merchants Bank is on the lookout for a dedicated Mortgage Banker to enhance our dynamic team. In this role, you will manage the mortgage requirements of both potential and existing clients. Your responsibilities will encompass initial consultations, collecting and assessing financial data, and entering information into our Mortgage Loan Origination System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize referral networks to cultivate mortgage loan opportunities.
  • Establish and nurture professional relationships within the community.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service from loan approval to closing, collaborating closely with loan origination sources to ensure all underwriting information is accurate and complete.
  • Engage in marketing efforts to attract new referral sources, including real estate agents, builders, and centers of influence.
  • Expand both internal and external referral networks to drive business growth.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in self-sourcing leads within a financial services context.
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the assigned area.
