We are seeking a Lead Internal Auditor to become a vital part of Buckingham Search's expanding team. This role involves assisting in the planning, execution, and reporting of operational audits for a significant multi-national corporation.
The individual in this position will coordinate Internal Audit activities across various locations, including manufacturing plants, distribution centers, vendors, contractors, and the corporate headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Internal Audit Manager in ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting and financial reporting standards, including adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and company-specific policies.
Evaluate the relevance, reliability, and integrity of financial and operational data, as well as the methods used to identify, measure, classify, and report this information.
Suggest enhancements to processes and systems.Assist in drafting comprehensive reports for auditees that summarize audit findings and help develop action plans to address identified issues.
Examine operations and programs to determine if outcomes align with established objectives and whether activities are conducted as intended.
Assess the systems in place to ensure compliance with policies, plans, procedures, laws, and regulations that could significantly impact operations and reporting, confirming organizational compliance.
Collaborate with external auditors to resolve discrepancies or support the external audit process.Assist the Data Analytics team in Continuous Controls Auditing of high-risk processes by investigating unusual patterns or trends identified through data analysis.
Provide guidance to business partners regarding risk and control matters as needed.Lead and manage audit teams composed of internal audit personnel and co-source partners, overseeing audit plans during engagements, reviewing work assignments, and identifying development needs for staff.
Document audit testing and conclusions clearly and comprehensively within the Internal Audit software tool.Support the implementation of best practices and remediation plans identified through the audit process across the organization.
Conduct ad hoc evaluations, inspections, investigations, or reviews as requested by the Internal Audit Manager or VP.Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in internal auditing, public accounting, or a related area is essential.
CPA and/or MBA credentials are preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
The candidate must effectively engage with individuals at all organizational levels, including directors, general managers, and executives.
Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are required to assess operational risks and controls effectively.Proficiency in Data Analytics is highly advantageous.
Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
Competence with PC and related software is expected.
