Position: Janitorial Lead

We are looking for a dedicated Janitorial Lead to oversee the daily operations of our cleaning staff. This role involves supervising approximately 20 hours of work per week, ensuring that all cleaning tasks are executed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign cleaning tasks and shifts to team members while conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Monitor attendance and manage reporting of absences.
  • Distribute cleaning supplies and equipment as necessary.
  • Conduct inventory checks on cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low.
  • Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new cleaning staff.
  • Provide recommendations for promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Offer training and support to janitorial staff to enhance their skills.
  • Address and resolve conflicts among team members efficiently.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform essential cleaning duties during staff shortages.
  • Maintain accurate daily timesheets within the company system.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the janitorial field.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning techniques.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to treat all individuals with respect and dignity.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to lift equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Proficiency in using a computer for prolonged durations.
  • May require climbing stairs or using a step stool.
  • Must possess the ability to visually assess work quality.
