Pet Care Specialist

We are seeking a committed and trustworthy individual to become a part of our kennel department team at Tipton Ridge Veterinary Medical Center.
ResponsibilitiesAdministrative Duties
- Document details such as feeding routines, physical condition, and behavior of animals in our care.
- Maintain records regarding the cleanliness and upkeep of all areas within the facility, ensuring compliance with our established standards.
Animal Care Tasks
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, identifying any signs of illness or distress.
- Handle and restrain animals as necessary.
- Provide regular walks for boarded dogs to ensure they receive adequate exercise and bathroom breaks.
- Apply knowledge of dietary needs for various animals, including the provision of special diets when required.
- Ensure proper identification and organization of cages and personal belongings of animals.
- Thoroughly clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and other animal housing areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
- Wash and sanitize food and water bowls regularly.
- Launder towels and blankets used for animal care.
- Conduct daily patrols of the facility grounds, collecting any litter and waste materials.
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and odor-free, maintaining a pleasant environment for our patients.
- Perform general cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Follow safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Assist with the admissions and discharges of animals, ensuring they are clean and well-presented.
Essential Skills
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Understand basic animal care principles and maintain a sanitary environment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work independently.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and practices.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial for this role.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
