Position Overview:


The Equipment Coordinator (Empty Equipment Vessel Coordinator) is responsible for maintaining effective communication with various departments including Home Office, Cargo Flow, terminals, and the stock management team to ensure optimal vessel loading and prioritization.

This role requires the coordinator to consistently update and manage vessel forecasts, demonstrating a keen attention to detail.

Daily responsibilities include reviewing terminal stock and vessel plans to confirm adherence to established protocols and addressing any discrepancies with the relevant parties.


Key Responsibilities:


• Manage inventory levels at terminals by comparing current stock with booking levels to ensure equipment availability for export needs.

• Strive to minimize idle time for empty equipment within the coordinator's jurisdiction by liaising with terminals, port operations, and maintenance & repair teams to facilitate a smooth inventory flow and reduce terminal storage.

• Collaborate with terminals, port operations, and home office to guarantee that vessels depart fully loaded.

• Ensure that forecasts are regularly updated to reflect accurate operational plans.

• Develop and nurture relationships with terminal personnel.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Familiarity with the shipping industry.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.


Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
