Position Overview:


The Equipment Coordinator (Empty Equipment Vessel Coordinator) plays a crucial role in ensuring effective communication with the Home Office, Cargo Flow, terminals, and the inventory management team regarding vessel loading and prioritization.

The coordinator is responsible for updating and maintaining vessel forecasts, demonstrating a strong attention to detail.

Daily responsibilities include reviewing terminal stock and vessel plans to ensure adherence to operational guidelines and addressing any issues with the relevant parties.


Key Responsibilities:


Maintain optimal inventory levels at terminals by comparing current stock with booking levels to meet export requirements.

Work towards minimizing idle time for empty equipment by collaborating with terminals, port operations, and maintenance and repair teams to ensure efficient inventory flow and reduce terminal storage needs.

Coordinate with terminals, port operations, and the home office to guarantee that vessels depart fully loaded.

Regularly update forecasts to reflect accurate operational plans.

Establish and nurture relationships with terminal operations.


Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Familiarity with the shipping industry
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities

Educational Background and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
