Position Overview:


The Equipment Coordinator (Empty Equipment Vessel Coordinator) plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication with the Home Office, Cargo Flow, terminals, and the inventory management team regarding vessel loading and prioritization.

This position demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to maintain and update vessel forecasts effectively.

Daily responsibilities include monitoring terminal stock and vessel plans to ensure adherence to established protocols and promptly addressing any issues with the relevant parties.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Maintain optimal inventory levels at terminals by comparing stock and booking data to meet export requirements.

2. Strive to minimize idle time for empty equipment within the designated region by liaising with terminals, port operations, and maintenance and repair teams to ensure a smooth inventory flow and reduce terminal storage needs.

3. Collaborate with terminals, port operations, and the Home Office to guarantee that vessels depart fully loaded.

4. Ensure that forecasts are regularly updated to reflect accurate operational plans.

5. Develop and nurture relationships with terminal personnel.


Essential Qualifications:


- Comprehensive understanding of the shipping sector.

- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Access.

- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word).

- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.


Educational Background and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.
