Job Overview

As a Senior Accounting Specialist, you will take on significant responsibilities with minimal supervision.

In this role, you will often guide a team of accountants, providing instruction on tasks, reviewing their output, and suggesting necessary adjustments.

You will be equipped to make decisions on most accounting, auditing, and tax-related issues, escalating only the most complex matters to senior management for guidance.


Your ability to establish time budgets for projects you have previously managed will be essential, as you lead your team in implementing efficient methods to meet deadlines.

You will exhibit professionalism and confidence while interacting with both staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities

1. Execute a variety of accounting, auditing, and tax assignments under the supervision of senior management.

2. Showcase your technical skills and maintain high-quality work that aligns with professional standards.

3. Prepare and draft client reports effectively.

4. Develop work schedules utilizing project management techniques to ensure timely completion.

5. Participate in the planning and scheduling of client engagements.


6. Prepare and organize work papers, applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to validate the accuracy of clients' financial information.

7. Keep senior management informed of any risk management issues identified.

8. Propose potential solutions for identified challenges before discussions with senior management.

9. Foster knowledge sharing within your team and across the firm.


10. Handle a comprehensive range of accounting and tax responsibilities to minimize the direct involvement of senior management.

11. Provide technical guidance to junior accountants and recognize their contributions while setting a positive example through your work ethic and values.

12. Conduct thorough reviews of your team's work to ensure quality and timely completion of tasks.


13. Review your own financial statements, tax returns, and work papers before submission, correcting any obvious errors and ensuring proper formatting.

14. Manage the implementation of solutions for clients.

15. Effectively juggle multiple projects simultaneously with limited oversight, ensuring the success of each initiative.

16. Actively engage in firm-wide initiatives.

17. Identify client needs and opportunities to promote additional services.

18. Understand and adhere to the firm's policies and procedures.

19. Prepare various reports and undertake additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a master's degree in accounting or equivalent professional experience.

- Ongoing professional education as outlined in your development plan.

- A minimum of three years in public accounting with increasing responsibilities in audit and attestation engagements.

- At least three years of experience in preparing diverse tax returns.

- Proficiency in computer software, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.

- Strong communication skills in English.


- A current and valid CPA license or progress towards obtaining it, as recognized by the partners.
