Job Title: Specialty Clinic Lead Referral Coordinator

At Scott County Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Clinic Lead Referral Coordinator to join our team. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and coordination skills to ensure seamless referral processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement standardized referral workflows to improve efficiency and patient satisfaction.
  2. Prioritize referrals based on urgency and ensure timely resolution.
  3. Lead the selection, orientation, and training of referral personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  4. Collaborate with ordering providers and patients to review referral details and expectations.
  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for patients and specialists regarding referral-related inquiries and concerns.
  6. Schedule appointments for testing, doctor consults, and other duties as requested by the Specialty Clinic Staff.
  7. Prepare and send necessary records and imaging studies to specialists.
  8. Keep patients and outside facilities informed about referral status.
  9. Communicate any referral-related issues or concerns to the Specialty Clinic Supervisor.
  10. Assign tasks to referral specialists based on production requirements and individual capabilities.
  11. Manage incoming and outgoing referrals, ensuring accurate documentation and promoting team awareness.
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate with the Specialty Clinic Supervisor and nurses regarding any referral-related issues or concerns.
  2. Delegate and oversee job duties to referral specialists as needed.
Expectations:

This is a non-exempt, 40-hour per week position that requires regular and punctual attendance. Overtime may be required to complete assignments.

This role requires prolonged sitting, typing, and phone use, as well as occasional walking, twisting, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Requirements:
  1. Preferred management experience.
  2. High school graduate or equivalent.

Computer experience and medical terminology are required. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are essential for success in this role.
